Being located in the most northern area of Japan, winter is very cold and it is cool even in the summer. 2This region produces about 27% of rice product in Japan, which is the staple food for most Japanese. Production of fruits like apples, cherries and peaches are also popular. 3Being the center of politics, economy and industries, this region has almost 34% of the whole population of Japan. The coastal area is a busy port for factories' production line and shipping, the central area is the core for business and culture, and the inland area is rich in agriculture. Each area shows its uniqueness.4The Chubu Region sits in the middle of Japan. The side facing the Sea of Japan sees lots of snow and is active in rice growth. The side facing the Pacifi c is warm and produces tangerines and Japanese tea. There is also the industrial area which expands from Nagoya city of Aichi Pref.5Kinki Region is the core of Western Japan and is as important as the Kanto Region.
